1987 Hellinger Award Winner- Mary Roche Mahar

Mary Roche from West Seneca, New York, took home the 1987 Mark Hellinger Award honors. She worked on The Bona Venture as writer and editor when the student paper again won national renown. Roche additionally was a broadcaster for WSBU and a writer for the yearbook while becoming involved in the Theater group on campus and being elected secretary of the Student Ambassadors. Off campus, she was an intern with WKBW-TV in Buffalo prior to winning the award.
